Wind Mitigation Inspections

Wind Mitigation (also known as Uniform Mitigation or 1802 Form) inspections are a Florida specific insurance inspection that verifies compliance to building code standards for wind mitigation features. In other words, hurricane protection! If you’ve had a new roof covering installed in the past few years your roof has been upgraded to meet some of the newer wind mitigation requirements!

We will inspect:

  •  For building code compliance
  • Roof covering material compliance
  • Roof deck attachment
  • Roof to wall connections
  • Roof geometry
  • Secondary water resistance (SWR)
  • Window and door opening protections

WE DO MORE!

While insurance inspections are system specific, we don’t just stop there. If our inspectors observe other issues that we believe may be of concern we will document and replay that information to you!

4-Points Inspections

Insurers require 4-Points inspections on homes currently over 10 years old to verify the age, functionality, and potential issues with the four major systems of your home. If you recently upgrade your roof, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems speak with your insurer if an updated 4-Points inspection can help you find deductions in your premium!

We will inspect:

  •  The electrical system, all electrical panels, hazards present, and condition.
  • The HVAC system, air conditioning and heating systems for hazards and functionality.
  • The plumbing system for water heater condition, plumbing leaks, and fixture and appliance leaks and condition.

Roof Certification Inspections

Insurance companies require roof certification inspections when they suspect a roof covering may become a liability to them. Most times this happens on a roof that is nearing the end of its life expectancy. As hurricane season approaches each year insurers like to verify older roof coverings are still in good condition and ask homeowners to have a roof certification inspection performed.

We will inspect:

  •  All roof covering materials for aging and permitting.
  • The overall condition and function of roof coverings.
  • Any visible signs of damage or deterioration.
  • Any visible signs of leaking.
